Interesting news!!

Questo é un periodo strano per me, tra meno di un mese mi trasferirò a Ginevra per studiare e sto letteralmente impazzendo:) non vedo l'ora di vedere posti nuovi e incontrare gente diversa ma allo stesso tempo sono spaventata dal fatto di stare lontana dalla mia famiglia per quasi sei mesi:) 

Quando sarò lì dovrò frequentare le lezioni a UNIGE, l' università di Ginevra: è fantastica, la struttura, il parco, l'intera città è magnifica!!! Spero di riuscire a condividere con voi i posti più belli che vedrò, fino ad allora ecco un paio di foto dell'ultima volta che sono stata li! (La prima è la vista dalla mia residenza, non è adorabile?)

This is a weird period for me, in less than a month I'm moving to Geneva to study there and I'm literally freaking out! I can't wait to see new places and meet new  people but at the same time I'm scared of staying far from my family for almost six months :) I'm going to attend classes at UNIGE, the university of Geneva : it's amazing, the structure, the park, the whole city is magnificent. I hope I'll be able to share with you the best places I' going to see :) until then, there are the photos I took during my last time there!  The first one is the view around my residence, it is lovely isn't it?

All'incirca un mese fa, navigando senza meta su Internet mi sono imbattuta nell'iniziativa di Dmitry Golubnichy  "100 Happy Days: sapete essere felici per 100 giorni di fila?" Le regole sono semplici, pubblicare ogni giorno su un social (ma puo essere anche il forma anonima) una foto a che testimoni il vostro essere felici quel giorno.
Lo scopo dell'iniziativa ovviamente non è immortalarsi sempre sorridenti, ma cercare ogni giorno qualcosa di bello nella nostra vita e a quanto pare sta ottenendo un enorme successo!
Io ho deciso di partecipare, ho iniziato questa sfida con me stessa esattamente un mese fa, scegliendo instagram come social network.
 Se vedo i lati positivi? Ovviamente. Da quando cerco ogni giorno qualcosa di bello nella mia vita mi rendo conto che ci sono giornate in cui potrei avere l'imbarazzo della scelta su quale caricare su instagram! L'umore migliora e invece che stare a piangermi addosso sorrido molto di più oltre a fare più attenzione a quello che mi succede intorno!

More or less a month ago, while I was surfing the net, I got my curiosity catched by the initiative of Dmitry Golubnichy "100 Happy Days, Can you be happy for 100 days in a row?". Rules are simple, you have just to post on a social of your choice (or without share your identity, see on the website) a photo proving that you are happy.
the purpose is obviously not to seem happy all the time with fake smiles but find every day something good in your life and it is having a great succes!
I starting challenging myself exactly a month ago and i choose Instagram! 
Positive consequences? Hell yes! Since I started looking for something good every day there are days in which I don't know what is the best choice to post. My mood improved, instead of self commiseration thare are smiles and more attention of what sourrond me!

Ginevra here I am!

Alla fine ci sono! Mi soon appena trasferita nella residenza universitaria che si trova nel quartiere di Saint Pierre, il quartiere gotico-romantico-affascinante sulla collina della città! 

La mia camera è minuscola e l'armadio assomiglia più a una scatola ma (se vogliamo vedere il lato positivo) sembra pieno anche con pochi vestiti;)

La cosa più bella è che proprio di fronte alla mia porta d'entrata c'è la cattedrale di Saint-Pierre, un magnifico esempio di chiesa medievale!

Finally I'm here! I just moved to my university residence, that is placed in the quarter of Saint Pierre, the gothic-romantic-charming little hill upon the city..

My room is very tiny, and the closet is more like a box, but (if we wanna see the positive side) it looks very full even with few clothes! 

The most beautiful thing of this place is that right in front of our door there is the Saint Pierre cathedral, a magnificent example of medieval church!

Sicily Diary

Hello everyone, I stopped posting because of exams and lots of things to do. I'm very bad, especially because this is a new blog, and I cannot ignore it for so long!

Before posting again of my Sicily trip, i'd like to share with u some of the best photos I took. There are many beautiful place I want to talk about and I can't wait.

I also have to let you know some recipes i felt in love with. Actually I should be dieting but my love for food has always been stronger than my will.

Villa del Casale, Piazza Armerina

La bellezza di svegliarsi (o andare a dormire) all'alba è una delle mie cose preferite...

Peccato che data la mia pigrizia io non ci riesca quasi mai. Ho detto quasi, perchè per partire e andare a Piazza Armerina ce l'ho fatta!

Piazza Armerina è una cittadina in provincia di Enna. 

Io ci sono andata per visitare la Villa del Casale, una villa romana perfettamente conservata e recentemente restaurata per permetterne la buona fruizione da parte di turisti! La parte migliore sono sicuramente gli affreschi, con dei colori che rasentano l'incredibile, mosaici artistico-allegorici e un ambientazione da sogno tutto intorno!

Too bad because of my laziness I do almost never succeed. I said almost, because to leave and go to Piazza Armerina I did it!

Piazza Armerina is a town in the province of Enna.

I went there to visit the Villa del Casale, a Roman villa perfectly preserved and recently restored to allow good use by tourists! The best part is definitely the frescoes, with colors that border on the incredible, artistic and allegorical mosaics and a beautiful ambience all around!

Charming places in Palermo.

Have you ever dreamed of finding a magic place, with the sublime taste of history combined with the nature's charm? Like when in TV films the main character get lost in the forest and they find a temple, some ruins with ivy and plants all around, and everything sounds a little mystic? 

Well, I had not the luck of seeing the "Spasimo" by night but i'm pretty sure it can easily look like my description of a charmed place <3

Avete mai sognato di trovare un posto magico, con il gusto sublime della storia combinato al fascino della natura? Come quando il personaggio di un film in TV si perde nella foresta e trova un tempio, delle rovine con edera e piante tutto intorno, e tutto sa di magico?
Beh, io non ho avuto la fortuna di vedere "Lo Spasimo" di notte ma sono piuttosto sicura che assomigli molto al luogo magico che vi ho appena descritto <3

The real name of this site is Santa Maria dello spasimo, and it was supposed to be a church, but let's start from the very beginning!

 In one of the most ancient districs of Palermo, in the early 1500 the ground  on which the church is built was donated by a Palermitan gentleman to a congregation of friars, the works began but they have never been concluded. The main reason was that the Turkish armada was on its way to Palermo and the priority was defending the city and not elevate the souls.

In 1520 the building, already very important for the city, became very precious for the painting by Raffaello Sanzio put there by the friars. Unfortunatly when the order had to move, the painting has been donated to Philipp the V, king of Spain, in return to some favours.

This one can seems as a the worst thing could happen but is not. Even without a masterpiece of art the charm of this place reach the highest levels.

Palermo!

Here we are in Palermo. I stayed there few days, host of some friends and they showed us the must of the city. First of all we went to Santa Rosalia's Sanctuary. The myth says that was Santa Rosalia that stopped the plague in Palermo in the 1625 and from that moment the cave in wich Rosalia appeared became a place where pilgrims even nowadays go to pray and leave their ex-voto. The biggest one is the anchor that 

some sailors gave to the Saint for thanking her of  have saving their lifes after a shipwreck.

But I don't want to ruin you the final of the story, and the curiosities about the cave, you have to visit it!

(and if you believe, take a bit of the holy water gushing from the cave walls..)

Eccoci a Palermo, 

sono stata qui un paio di giorni ospite di amici e mi hanno mostrato i must della città.

 Prima di tutto siamo andati al Santuario di Santa Rosalia. Il mito racconta che fu Santa Rosalia a fermare la peste a Palermo nel 1625 e da quel momento la grotta nella quale Rosalia apparve divenne un luogo dove i pellegrini anche oggi vanno a pregare e lasciare i loro ex-voto.

 Il più importante è l'ancora che

alcuni marinai hanno dato alla Santa per ringraziarla di aver salvare le loro vite dopo un naufragio.

Ma non voglio rovinarti il finale della storia, o le curiosità circa la grotta, dovete visitarla!

(e se si crede, prendere un po 'di acqua santa che sgorga dalle pareti della grotta ..)

By the way, at the feet of the mountain there are many souvenirs and food sellers, if I may suggest you something is to try "pane e panelle" in one of these little places, they are amazing!

(Pane e Panelle is litterally bread and chickpea flour worked with water and fried)

Ad ogni modo, ai piedi del monte ci sono molti venditori di cibo e souvenirs, se posso darvi un consiglio è quello di provare "pane e panelle" in uno di questi piccoli posti, sono fantastici!!!

(Pane e Panelle per chi non lo sapesse è una specie di panino farcito con delle frittelline di farina di ceci).

The best part of my trip

There is something you cannot miss in Sicily: the food!
During my trip I tried every single dish people suggested me! Sooner or later I wanna try some recipes but for now I just share with you few calories!

Se c'e qualcosa che non potete perdervi in Sicilia è il cibo! Durante il mio viaggio ho provato ogni singolo piatto che mi è stato consigliato! Prima o poi ho intenzione di provare qualche ricetta, ma per il momento voglio condividere qualche caloria!

San Vito Lo Capo

As someone used to say : "exams never end" and they was right! My summer is full of exams so i don't have lot of time for myself but so relax a bit during my hard-study days I put these photo of San Vito Lo Capo as screen saver, for now it seems to work! 

Actually I've never liked very much the sea before this trip, and you can imagine my surprise when I fell in love with this amazing place.

The beach is nice, the water let you see cristal clear the fishes swimming around your feet and the center is so  charateristic, above all the little church that reminded me a tiny castel!

Come diceva qualcuno : "gli esami non finiscono mai" e aveva ragione! La mia estate è piena di esami e non ho molto tempo per me quindi, per rilassarmi un po durante i miei giorni di studio, ho messo queste foto di San Vito Lo Capo come screen saver...al momento sembra funzionare!

A dire il vero non mi è mai piaciuto il mare prima di questa vacanza e potete immaginare la mia sorpresa quando mi sono innamorata di questo posto FANTASTICO! 

La spiaggia è davvero carina e l'acqua ti permette di vedere chiaramente i pesci che ti nuotano attorno ai piedi, e poi il centro è così caratteristico! Soprattutto la piccola chiesa, che mi ha subito ricordato un castello in miniatura!

Sicily trip

C'è veramente qualcuno che sta leggendo?
Non so esattamente come andrà questa cosa, ho sempre pensato che quando uno viaggia e scopre posti particolari dovrebbe portarci tutti i suoi amici e farglieli apprezzare!
Dato che le mie condizioni economiche non mi permettono di organizzare viaggi di gruppo un giorno si e l'altro...anche, forse mettere in rete le mie scoperte aiuterà qualcuno in più a condividere i miei "angoli di paradiso".
Sono appena tornata da una vacanza di 15 giorni in Sicilia, dove non ero mai stata prima, e mi sono letteralmente innamorata di quasi ogni cosa che ho visto (e assaggiato).
Le tappe del nostro viaggio sono state Trapani, Palermo, Cefalù, Piazza Armerina, Selinunte, La valle dei Templi, Erice, le Saline di Nubia, Monreale, Bagheria....e molto altro!
Ma cominciamo dall'inizio, la nostra prima colazione siciliana è stata una granita con brioche da Colicchia, a Trapani, una cosa assolutamente da provare anche perchè il panorama è mozzafiato! Purtroppo quel giorno la mia macchina fotografica era caput, e tutto quello che posso mostrarvi sono queste due foto scattate con il cellulare, spero di recuperare presto le altre per rendere giustizia alla meraviglia!

Is there really someone who is reading this?
I do not know exactly how this thing will go, I always thought that when someone travels and discovers special places should bring all his friends there and make them appreciate them!
Since my economic conditions do not allow me to organize group travel everyday ... well, perhaps to network my findings will help a few more to share my "pieces of paradise".
I just spent 15 days in Sicily, where I had never been before, and I literally fell in love with almost everything I've seen (and tasted).
The stages of our journey were Trapani, Palermo, Cefalu, Piazza Armerina, Selinunte, Valley of the Temples, Erice, the Saline of Nubia, Monreale, Bagheria .... and much more!
But let's start from the beginning: our breakfast was a Sicilian granita with brioche at Colicchia, in Trapani, take a note, you have to try it and in addiction to this the view is breathtaking! Unfortunately, that day my camera was caput, and all I can show you are these two photos taken with the phone, I hope to recover soon others !
